Welcome New Manager, Mr. Gokul Upadhyay !

Namaste! We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Gokul Upadhyay as the Temple Manager of the Hindu Temple of Minnesota. Mr. Gokul Upadhyay brings over twenty years of professional/managerial experience with For-profit companies and Non-profit organizations in India, Kenya, Uganda and USA. He is an engineering professional with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from India and an MBA from the US. He has held positions as a Marketing Manager, General Manager and Chief Works Manager. He has lived in Minneapolis before and has volunteered in our temple as well as Habitat for Humanity several times. His goal is to serve The Paramatma (through serving the temple/society) with devotion & austerity. He currently lives with Seattle and will be relocating to Maple Grove, Minnesota. Please join us in welcoming him into the Temple and our Community.

We want to thank Mr. Punjabhai Patel for his tireless service as the manager of our temple for many years. Knowing Punjabhai, he will continue to be a valuable resource and of great assistance to Mr. Upadhyay. We wish him well.

The Hindu Society of Minnesota provides religious, spiritual, educational, social and cultural activities for all generations of the Hindu community. As the largest Hindu temple in North America, our organization offers the unique benefit of providing a multitude of community resources and activities under one roof.

Religious Services

HSMN provides a beautiful Hindu Temple (place of worship) for the Twin Cities Hindu community. Our temple is authentic and built according to “Vastushastra” – a traditional system of Hindu architectural design. There are 21 mini temples which are identical replicas of several famous temples from all regions of India. Temple timings are Monday to Friday 9:30am to 11:30am and 5:30pm to 8:30 pm, weekends and holidays 9:00 am to 8:30 pm. All are welcome

Cultural Services

Cultural committee comprised of the committee chair and 2-3 other members organizes cultural events for major cultural holidays such as Holi, Diwali and the Cultural Heritage Day showcasing the vast talent from the Twin Cities area.
As well as assists in hosting events of visiting national and international cultural artists as well as Religious cultural events of the multitude of regional communities.

Educational Services

Hindu American Temple School(HATS) offers classes the covers different aspects of Hindu Dharma, including spiritual practices such as Yoga, in an age appropriate manner. The school follows a graded and a diverse curriculum that meets the requirements of children (from ages 4-15 yrs) growing up in the American society.

Food Services

Our divine scriptures say Annam Parabrahma Swaroopam! While preserving the divinity of food, we serve prasadam/food at   our temple with the help of devotee volunteers on weekends       and special occasions like festivals etc. Food Sponsor is one of the most gratifying and popular service among the devotees and is always booked couple of months in  advance by enthusiastic devotee volunteers.

Outreach

Outreach and philanthropic efforts were always a part of the activities of the Hindu Society of Minnesota. Since the inception of Outreach committee in 2009, the HSMN has supported local non profits and involved in various fund raising activities to support people in need around the world.

Temple Tours

Summer tours (June, July, August)  will be only on Saturdays. No tour on 4th of July Weekend. Tours on Saturdays and Sundays resume  on Sept 14th.  Tours start at 9:30 AM & last about1 hour.  Tours are free but your donations will help us maintain this beautiful facility. Suggested donation: $5/person.  Please contact Temple Manager at manager@hsmn.org
